Description
In the tranquil town of Gols, which is one of the largest wine-growing communities in Austria but still has the idyllic tranquillity of Lake Neusiedl, the Nittnaus family has been making wine since 1684. When the winery was taken over in 1985, the focus was on international varieties, with the local Blaufränkisch playing more of a supporting role. In 1990, an outstanding vintage - of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Blaufränkisch - gave rise to the idea of attempting a cuvée. This was the birth of Commondor - today one of Austria's flagship wines. The idea of Pannobile, a special wine made from local varieties, was also born in the 1990s. The association that emerged from this ensures that the 9 members have a special wine under this label in their program every year. The program also includes DAC wines from the Leithaberg as well as creative bottlings from other varieties.
