Description
Doornkaat stands for the Freisian tradition of a soft grain brandy like almost no other brand. In 1806, the merchant's son Jan ten Doornkaart founded his distillery in East Frieland and the brand was registered in 1894. Today, the distillery belongs to the Berentzen Group. The distillate is traditionally triple-distilled from wheat and bottled at 38% vol. in the distinctive green, square bottle. Doornkaat is usually enjoyed neat, in combination with a (Frisian) pilsner.
